Edit in External Editor with Textmate

edit in textmate

Textmate allows you to open files from within other applications in Textmate, do your job there, and then regain focus and return to TextMate

Required for this to work, you need the Input Manager action

TM’s install:edit in TM bundle command provides a link in the popup window, that will create a symbolic link automatically once you click it

When you relaunch, your applications will provide the symlink automatically, provided, you have set up TM correctly.Instructions are available on the macromates Site.

When you , relaunch a TM aware application, let’s say Ecto for example, open a draft, press ⌃ ⌘ E, continue to edit in TextMate, once you’RE done, press ⌘ S , and automatically your’RE back in Ecto, with your saved changes.
What a Great Timesaver..

There is also a small movie I made, that shows how to create and custumize a bundle snippet item in the Bundle Editor
